The Golden Compass

I'm sure many of you have read the fabulous Phillip Pullman 'His Dark Materials' Trilogy, about two children who change the destiny of the universe. And likewise, I'm sure lots of you know that the first book, The Golden Compass, will be released as a major motion picture on December 7th (wooo!).

This movie, I've recently discovered, has a very shiny website though which you can reveal your own personal Daemon*!

Help my Daemon choose it's correct form before it settles by clicking on the box below and answering some questions about me!

*If you haven't read the books - the 'Daemon' is an external embodiment of the soul in the form of an animal, which all humans posses in one of the alternate universes that Phillip Pullman creates.

**If the pretty box above does not work, you can also link to my Daemon's profile here

Life should be more like Star Trek - part 5

Given how long my little 'Star Trek is coming' rant has held up, it seems evident that soon life will actually BE Star Trek. I'm thinking now all we have to do is pick characters. Personally, right now I'm leaning towards McCoy. I'm already pretty neurotic, and I'll just have to take to saying things like: My GOD man, I'm an Art Historian, not a magician!

But in all seriousness, our govenment has recently developed a cloaking device that actually seems to work. You all know what this means: we now have the technology to cloak our Romulan warbird. Of course, now all we need is a Romulan warbird.....

Unless we already have one, and it is cloaked. Oooooooh, that would be sneaky. I like it.

Seen one of these around lately?
